The guide is what can be expected of Haynes - thorough and clear descriptions of pretty much everything the DIY mechanic would attempt on the VW polo. The book will save you money and time (and frustration) and should give even the most novice mechanic the confidence to attempt jobs they wouldn't usually approach.

The only reason it loses a star is that some detailed descriptions are a bit lacking in places - and the old favourite of Haynes - "Refitting is a reversal of removal" which isn't always true!
