I wasn't planning any mods to my 3rd gen RX-7 (as the book says its pretty good out of the box), and so didn't buy this book. But I was bought it as a gift and really enjoyed it.
Its not a step-by-step 'How-To' book or a workshop manual, instead it is a great source of wisdom and experience regarding upgrading/modding your car for autocross, trackdays, racing or even just street use. It tells you what things to upgrade, why and when, and often more importantly when NOT to, depending on what your goals are. This book could save you a lot of money by targeting the right mods for your application.
It covers all 3 generations of RX-7 well, but much of the info it contains could be applied to modding any car.
Refreshingly different from Brian Long's RX-7 'history' book, there's plenty of interesting stuff in here for any RX-7 owner!

This book covers all generation of Mazda RX7 cars.
It is a very basic book that avoids diagrams and detailed how tos instead covering products and techniques to maximise your money. Aimed at an american market it has some issues for the UK car owner but provides enough meat to aid you in your modification planning. Dont expect this book to be a bible and use it as a source for further research and you will be very pleased.
Highly recommended for non techies and for those who appreciate good writing.
