I bought this book on the basis that I would be able to fix absolutely anything on my Land Rover if I could understand the text.
It is clear and easy to understand but omits some major subjects. I mean there is absolutely nothing on front suspension, the steering section says simply "remove the steering box" but doesn't say how to do it, and then proceeds to tell you exactly how to overhaul it, with a multitude of special tools.
Everyone I have spoken to says to buy a recon, overhaul is too specialised. But if I buy a recon I will be unable to remove the old or install the new without another book!
In conclusion this is not a book you would sit down and read it is a technical manual. Sadly almost every subject I have referred to so far is not covered. The bits that are though are incredible in their detail. But with the additions needed to address the omissions I have already noticed it will be about 4 inches not 2 inches thick.
